CARING FOR YOUR CRATES
Deeper Crates are hand made, natural wood products. Because of this, there will be occasional imperfections and variations in the colour of the wood and assembly.
Deeper Crates are a natural finished product. This means that if the crates are left in direct sunlight with something on them, over time the UV light will create shadows on the wood. This also means if you get a bit lairy or just plain old clumsy and spill a drink on it, 1) I hope you don’t damage your records and 2) You might stain your crate. If you want to use one as a side table I recommend giving your crate a couple of coats of Osmo Poly-x Oil, or at the very least a cheaper Bona or similar water based varnish.
If you’re unfortunate enough to live in a damp house, because Deeper Crates are natural wood, they may absorb atmospheric moisture and slightly swell, or warp. If you’ve just got a bit of damp on a wall like me, just keep your crates away from that wall and you should be fine.
F A Q
How do I order?
Simple! Just use the Paypal “Buy Now” button. It’s important to keep your Paypal shipping address up to date as this is the address your crates will be sent to.
If a product I want is out of stock when will it be back in stock?
Usually within a month, but keep checking Instagram and the site for updates.
How much is postage?
Crates are £10 each and a Joining Kit is £3.
Do you ship internationally?
Not at the moment but I am in the process of finalising international shipping rates so keep your eyes peeled!
Who delivers my crates?
Interlink Express. Once your order has been despatched you’ll get an email advising you of the date and time of your delivery (usually a 1 hour window).
I want to build a shelving unit like the picture on the home page out of crates. How do I do it?
If you want to create a shelving unit of crates, firstly you’ll need to buy a joining kit, which contains enough fixings to join between 5 and 10 crates depending on the arrangement. I recommend any arrangement over 4 feet tall have a couple of secure fixings to a wall behind. This is because most rooms in houses (especially old/carpeted ones) slope up to the wall and this will cause your Deeper Crate shelving arrangement to lean in to the room and potentially tip over.
If you want to build an arrangement with cantilevered elements, be aware that if they are overloaded or bashed they may get damaged or broken – any arrangement you create must be done using common sense! The same goes for putting your decks on top of your crates – if the feet of your decks sit right in the middle or front end of a crate, over time it may sag. I’m working on a guide to crate arrangements so watch this space!
There’s something wrong with my crate. What do I do?
Just send an email via the contact page on the website and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
